Reflection: Never had I imagined I would be spending so much time ironing my tablecloths! The first thing I noticed is unfortunately that the backdrop has some bumps. It's smooth as in no wrinkles, but there are bubbles. It makes me annoyed because it looked perfect when I was taking the pictures. It could be it became more visible with the flashlight and such.
On to the technical stuff - it was fun to experiment. The one issue was definitely trying to not have such harsh light from the flash light. I was able to pull out an old kids magnetic black board, some tissue paper to help diffuse and reflect and it was interesting to see how a little movement or bounce could change an image.
Next time I would invest in an assistant - just kidding! I think I need to try the tethering option because I very much felt that my hands were very full. I would also pull out the roll of paper instead of white cloth to see if that prevents those bumps. But overall - I think the light painting was my favorite. I had been itching to use that bulb mode, I'm excited to see what else we can create. We have Diwali, the festival of light coming up and I would love to see what images I can create from that event!
Second Reflection: White Balance. Wow. Once edited it made a big difference. BUT, it did make my pictures seem colder. I think some slight more editing in lightroom will help. Unfortunately I am not super thrilled with this shoot. Would love to see this as something we do early in semester and then re do later to see how we have progressed as this felt not great. I was thankful for theopportunity to correct some of the white & resubmit.
