REFLECTION: This was a great way to start seeing how images are more pleasing to the eye when we compose them. At first I was puzzled as to where I would find enough places that would fulfill the requirements. once I started looking around me I realized these concepts are really everywhere.
My favorite images were at the skate park, specifically the framing shot. The skaters were so great and I was able to get many different shots. Using the skills of moving my own body I felt I was able to capture movement and still have it be pleasing to the eye, and not boring. Some added blur added a contrast against the bland concrete background. My favorite image, the one of the skater through one of the pipes makes me happiest - I love the light, and the contrast of the concrete against the softness from the sunset.
I have learned that I still have so much to learn about my camera. I need to spend more time shooting moving objects to feel comfortable to quickly change settings and capture the images. I also learned that I prefer this softer evening light to the stark daylight as it lends a warmth that makes me want to just take pictures of everything. In my "excess" bin I have benches, fields, and kids frolicking on the beach! I cannot wait to find a place to put those images as well. For future I will know that 1. Contrast of texture with light can create some great images 2. To get comfortable with knowing my camera settings even more and 3. That composition lends itself to all photographs. It takes a few tries to get it right, but when it is right, it can be beautiful.
EDITED 10/21/21: Below I added some more suitable images, after submitting the assignment. I clearly was overthinking when I was studying the principles, and in doing so, missed the point.
