Reflection: WOW. I had such a great time with this assignment. Once I saw the kids painting supplies around the house I thought how interesting it would be to try this out. I used one of our large silver reflectors, along with a flashlight, some daytime lighting from the window, and then we got creative and used some LED Strip lighting I had around the house. It was once again very amazing to see how light could immediately change the "mood" of a picture. I wish we could do a few more assignments like this with difference still life focuses and see what we created. My favorite image was the last one, of the rocket. Here, we also included our steamer - since I felt like it was one of my props at this point! I love the combination of effects from these props.
Next time what I would do is find a bit of a larger space to work with. I was limited since this space is at the front of the house, and our guest room (we currently have a guest in there so I had to work in between !) Having more space would allow me to move more freely. I felt like I was a little tight.
The other thing I would love to try is maybe a series with light painting. It didn't lend itself super well to this set of items, but would like to try that.
The BONUS Image on the bottom is another favorite. While experimenting with the LED strip I wanted to see what would happen if we just used it in the image, rather than using it to reflect. I like the effect of it in the image - just something fun. I realize the table looks super crumply in it - but I am really starting to love working with light!
